Have you ever read a book that, dare I say it, was life changing?


I have. I have read a few that, depending on where I was at that point in my life, had a profound effect on me. They are ones I constantly recommend and refer to often. They are ones that encouraged me to take a deeper look at myself and work on ME. This is something I think is becoming more common in women but I still think there is room for more.


I always love when other people share their favorite books. I probably have at least 5 screenshot images saved on my phone of book piles people have posted. So, if you are looking for a few books to help you look a little deeper into yourself or even a fun book to help encourage you and lean into fear in a fun way, I got you covered.





1. When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi - This is one that makes you go "damn." Its a brain surgeons perspective on life and death.. He talks about it from a Doctors perspective as well as a patients. I finished this book feeling like it was my duty to live the life I wanted. You might want the tissues for this one.


2. My Year With Eleanor by Noelle Hancock -This one is fun. It is a girls account of doing one thing every day that she was afraid of. Whether it be something small like talking to a stranger or something huge like quitting a job, she constantly quotes Eleanor Roosevelt and has a fun and inspiring story to tell.


3. You are a Badass by Jen Sincero - Yes, YOU, You are a bad ass. Me too. And sometimes it takes a book to make you stop, write down a few mantras, start believing even more in vibrating at higher frequencies and get fired up about how awesome YOU really are.


4. The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer - This isn't for the faint of heart. It took me 3 times to get through chapter 3. It's a little out there but it's worth it. This book brings awareness to the conversations within your own head, the stories you tell yourself and how to deal with them. I am so guilty of creating these stories and thinking I know how other people feel (specifically about me) when most of the time I created an insane scenario that is so far from the truth. With the help of this book I have the tools to acknowledge these stories I tell myself/make up and then let them go. It's worth the reading and re-reading of a few chapters because the message is something we all need to hear.



5. Rising Strong by Brene Brown - Here's the truth. I LOVE ALL OF BRENE BROWN'S BOOKS. Daring Greatly is hands down my favorite (it is not pictured because I gave it to a friend). Her stories around vulnerability and courage hit home for me. I recommend you pick her books up ASAP.



All of these books came into my life sometime within the last 4 years. It is safe to say that in the last 4 years I have made the biggest transformations in my life and these books have, more or less, helped shape who I am and growing to be on the daily.
